What is Cast to TV or Screen Mirroring?

Cast to TV or commonly known as screen mirroring is a feature that allows the screen of a mobile device to be sent to the TV screen as it is and viewed on a large TV screen. For example, from a cellphone screen to a TV screen or from a laptop screen to a TV screen.

To do screen mirroring, you must have a device that supports it. Cast to TV or Screen mirroring has a variety of methods, both wired and wireless.

In the past we used to do Cast to TV or screen mirroring with RCA, HDMI, VGA cables. This has several drawbacks, for example if with a VGA cable we can only transmit images on other devices without transmitting audio or sound. Along with the development of the era, came the HDMI cable that can transmit picture and sound at the same time to other devices such as TVs. However, all Cast to TV methods using this cable have the same weakness, namely flexibility. Where the range will be limited to how long the cable is used.

Along with the development of the era, now comes the Cast to TV / Screen Mirroring method wirelessly or wirelessly. This method allows you to transmit images and sound from one device to another wirelessly. Generally screen mirroring wirelessly uses a WiFi network. Both devices must be connected to the same network. For example, mobile phones and TV devices must be connected to the same WiFi network. This automatically requires that a device must have WiFi.
